The procedure

Surgery

The process of hair transplant is executed by giving local anesthesia in the donor and recipient area. In such procedure, follicular grafts holding one to five hairs are extracted and implanted in bald area. The average surgery timing takes around 6 to 7 hours.

Post operative care

Firstly no dressing on the transplanted area but the donor area will be covered with dressing which should be removed after one day. Well the exposed area is protected from sun for at least 2 to 3 weeks. On the other hand there is no problem in moving if patient needs to move but hair wash can be started from fourth day and shampoo can be started from fifth day onwards. After surgery he or she can go anywhere and wherever they want to go.

Risk involved

Normally there may be slight swelling on the area of implanted hair which will go off in four to five days. Besides the implanted hair has its own hair cycle which will be completed in 2-3 weeks. And the same hair follicles will start growing after 2 or 3 months and the best result can be seen after one year. Apart from this the transplanted hair follicles would not drop under the effect of male hormones but the patient need to take some medicines to stop hair loss in the remaining area.
